Changing your network TCP/IP properties

To Set your PC's IP Address, Gateway, and DNS servers :
  • In Windows XP or 2000 go to start menu, select Control Panel and click on the Network Connections ICON. (In windows 2000 select Network and Dial-up connections.
  • You will get a window pop-up that looks similiar to this: (some screens may vary slightly depending on you version on Windows)

  • Right-click your network connection and choose properties.

  • Click on the item Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) to highlight it
  • Click on the Properties button
  • When the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) properties box appears, fill in the details according to your Start-up pack

  • When you are finished, click OK to close the IP proporties window.
  • and click OK to close the LAN Connection Properties window... your system might 'hang' for a minute or two while it sets to new settings.
