Your Installation

Planet802 Fixed Wireless Broadband Packages

All fixed wireless broadband connections are installed by engineers at your premises. Usually the radio unit is fitted externally to you premises. Our engineers provide an ethernet port or cable for you to plug into you computer. This makes for a clean handover point, (and a nice easy installation for you) at which point anything beyond the end of that ethernet port becomes the responsibility of the end user. Unlike other ISP's, we'll also help you configure your PC while we are onsite.

By using standard ethernet compatible devices, we ensure compatibility without the use of any ADSL modems, therefore providing a more robust connection with minimal points of failure.

Because the connection point is an ethernet interface to your PC, integration into a home or small office network is as easy as plugging the cable into your existing router's WAN port. Of course Planet802 can supply a pre-configured router or install your network if you require.

Solo ADSL Broadband Packages

Unlike Fixed Wireless Access, there is a lot more going on at your premises with ADSL. Your telephone line needs to carry the signal from your voice conversations, as well as your Broadband connection. In order to do this, the frequencies are split going across the telephone lines to your home/office and you are then required to "split" them apart by the use of microfilters or splitters.

You will then need to connect your ADSL modem to the ADSL line off the splitter, and connect to your PC. All telephone lines that are in use must use splitters!

Planet802 solo packages all include Free ADSL USB modem (for use with single PC) and two microfilters to get you started.

A BT engineer may be required to test your telephone lines prior to activation. Once tested and confirmed you will be notified of your activation date and sent your USB modem if requested.

Business or Multi user packages

As with Solo packages above, an engineer may be required to visit your premises prior to activation of your account. You will then be notified of activation and provided details of your account

All un-managed business and multi-user accounts will need to provide their own router or ADSL modem in order to operate a multi-user network. Planet802 can recommend and supply modems on request, or visit our online shop and look for ADSL routers/modems.

Pay as you Go packages

Pay as you go packages do not include a Modem or microfilters. You will need to provide you own equipment in order to connect. If you have any queries please contact Planet802 for advice on equipment and installation.

As above with other ADSL packages, a BT engineer may be required to visit your premises to test signal strength and quality on your line. If successful you will be notified of your activation date and sent your user details.
