Getting Started with Wireless Broadband
One of the most cost effective methods of getting broadband into your home or business is by means of wireless network. Installation is easy as there are no new cables coming into your house. Modern radio technology means stable and robust links to the base-station. Since wireless usually includes on-site installation our customers often use this time to ask any relevant questions they may not be able to ask when there is no availabe on-site installation. We think this type of service also offers our customers that extra level of service they might not get from the big corporate ISPs.
Here are some steps to get you connected:
Step1: Check coverage for your area. Are you in one of the villages listed to the right? If so, then you are likely covered. Check the maps for your area, see what neighborhood coverage is like.
Your community not covered? We may still have options for you. Check our price guides for commercial rates. Want to get your village enabled? Drop us a line with the number of users you think would be interested, and we'll start a project to set up a local wireless network.
Step 2: Fill out a sign-up sheet. found here... If you are in a covered area, you can also phone us if you have specific questions. Filling out a sign-up sheet enables us to record you address and put an engineer in touch with you on a priority.
Step 3: When the engineer arrives, he will require your PC to be in stable operating condition. We will install and cable to the shortest possible route directly to your PC, and we will require a single power supply in the wall for the broadband equipment. You will require a working ethernet port on your PC and TCP/IP protocols loaded. This is usually automatic with windows 2000 or XP.
If you are not using Windows XP or 2000, you will need to know how to configure your operating system for networking. This is usually a simple procedure for MacOS and Linux. If you are opting for a Commercial Radio Link, email us with your full name and address and we'll send you the Order forms.
